CREATE YOUR OWN SPA AT HOME !!!

It’s easy to create your own SPA at your home!  This is the ultimate solution to take daily care of your feet in the best possible way! Easy and just fun !

Did you know that your feet are your royal limbs and that in the course of your lifetime you will walk circle the earth about 40 times ??!!

So treat them as the most royal part of your body!!!

FATIGUED FEET

* Change your shoes regularly. Buy semi-orthopedic shoes/sandals for home and good pair of sandals for outside wear. Semi-orthopedic shoes are now hip, good-looking and healthy. Ask your chiropodist for advice. Try this and you’ll see that your tired feet will simply disappear!

* Practice daily relaxing and healthy foot-massage. Ask your chiropodist to show you how to do it.

* For an extensive and long – leg massage ask Irma.

* When you come home in hot weather, wash your feet immediately ( this will take you maybe only two minutes) and you will feel totally rejuvenated! It will prevent absolutely more hard skin !

* Take a relaxing foot-bath once a week with Dead Sea salt and feel totally refreshed. This is not only good for your body also for the spirit! No time? Be honest! How much time do you spend every day checking your mail and your mobile phone ? How much time does this take? You can do this even while watching television or reading a book. You can do it!

Pamper yourself after the foot-bath with a scrub or peeling. Don't forget to finish with a foot-cream (for dry skin). Try to take a foot bath in your bathroom so it’s easy and the Dead Sea salt is right near you. Also teach your children to take a foot-bath right after they come home from school ( hugs first of course ?) and change socks. Especially recommended for boys who play sport during school-breaks.

DAILY FOOT CARE

Try to clean your nails every day (even while showering) with a soft brush. Use it for your feet and it will also stimulate blood-circulation.

Dry your feet and make sure you dry between your toes. Use a foot cream to raise the pH levels. Also use foot balm to prevent athlete's feet. Don't use too much soap when showering, or use soap only several times a week. It removes the good layer of the bacteria on your skin, which you need. The best way is to use soap several times a week and particularly use a body cream every day to restore this layer. This is good for your resistance, and better for your feet.

Use a thin orange stick properly clean your cuticles and nails. Never use talcum powder for the feet ! Always dry your toes thoroughly, as fungus loves liquids, Make sure you dry toe after toe and between your toes. Your foot specialist can recommend you an excellent nail-strengthener. By taking daily care of your feet, like you take daily care of your teeth, you will be able prevent serious foot problems. They are surely worth it!!!

HOW TO CARE WITH DRY AND EVEN CRACKED SKIN?

Cracked skin is merely neglected hard or rough skin. You can prevent this by applying a suitable foot cream to your feet every day. It is the best to apply cream at night while your skin is resting, and enjoy professional foot treatment on regular base (once in the 6 to 8 weeks)

Meanwhile you can use a foot file or a so called pedi-egg at your home to improve dry and hard skin. Use this no more than once in the two weeks. If you do so more often you will encourage the production of hard skin even more.

What is an effective foot cream? Ask your chiropodist for advice. Know that a good foot cream is always suitable for the hands but never vice-versa!

Try this once: apply a great deal of foot-cream to your feet. Use thin cotton socks. Read a book in bed for 10 minutes (put your mobile aside!) and feel how the cream soaks into your feet. This is a good repair-treatment !

Up-to-date research shows that going barefoot is very natural and healthy. Did you know that shoes are incubators of fungi? And did you know that shoes are the major cause of almost all your foot problems? The advocate for going barefoot Daniel Howell (docent anatomy at University of Lynchburg (VS)  offers tips for running barefoot which is becoming more and more popular around the world. (http://www.thebarefootbook.com)  Read about the barefoot professor who goes without shoes in his daily life . In Israel we often bring sand into our home and we also don't like dirty feet. You can use (even in summer) a pair of very thin cotton socks. Try the super thin foot-cream-socks !

EXERCISES

Use a small ball or a ball with soft dots ( massage-effect !) for exercises. Put the ball under your feet and just play with it and try to do as much as exercise as you can and see how creative you van be and meanwhile strenghten your foot-muscles.

The best exercise may be to keep your feet and toes flexible is just to move your toes in all possible directions and enjoy the freedom.

CHANGE SHOES AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE….

Enough with tired legs and feet at the end of the day. This can belong to the past if you change shoes regularly! Have another pair of shoes for wearing at home, like semi-orthopedic shoes. Don't worry if they are not very beautiful. By the time you go to bed you’ll see at the time that you don't suffer from heavy and fatigued legs! Try and feel the difference, something which you never enjoyed before. Ask your Chiropodist for advice on the shoes to buy. Why wear the most beautiful shoes which cause foot problems (high heels , too narrow) all the time? Let your home be a place where your feet enjoy the good life and where you can walk comfortably, and feel that you are walking on air.

NAIL-POLISH ??

Your Chiropodist should never advise you to apply nail polish because then your nails are sealed. People who suffer from nail fungus should never use nail-polish as the anti-fungus product will never be effective. In addition, nail polish may cause a yellow/white or light-green layer on your nails. BUT….we do want beauty (??) so when you want to apply nail- polish it is recommended do so and then remove the polish as soon as possible in order to be sure you have healthy nails!
